We made the crossing from Keystone to Port Townsend after WFO 4. It's not a bad ride, unless the winds are at gale force. I know we were all being good citizens and in the very long summer line, when a local on a bike told us to go to the head of the line. There was a holding area for bikes and we loaded first and exited first. The bikes rode fine, some on center stand and some on the side stand.

Hear ya Brian! I don't mind the left ***, I bet you don't mind the right..

Poor Sylvia.. His thread is going into the ******* before it starts.

Thank you, junior.

So, you needn't worry about tie-downs, etc.?

.......Just don't bring those Prissy *** velvet tie downs you brought on our ride last year...... If you you want

to be tied down and gagged again....... bring leather stud.........

Hope OM let's me know when he's coming, as I might plan a day or two to help him find a view or two to share. If the SO doesn't have other plans aren't already made for me.

Don't know which way your planning to be riding but we have a lot of natural beauty up here.

Cool thing about the Ferry's are you can buy your ticket and go to the front of the line.

Whidbey Island has some pretty nice Black top and the surrounding area has some pretty nice views.

The Olympic Peninsula is also very nice! The summer is full of the caged tourist type (me included as I'll be taking the wife around in the old camper) but still worth seeing.

Washington is full of things to see, but the LEO's are always out so keep a eye opened.

They have ropes on the sides for bicycles to tie up with. If it was that bad the folks working the Ferry would let you use those I suppose. Pull up to the left side and use your sidestand and tie it to your left bar to keep the bike leaned over left. The reason i say this is most of Seattle leans left. <_< On second thought if it's that bad out with lots of rain and high winds what the hell are you doing outinit?

Let me know next time your in Seattle and want to go for a ride around. There are some nice twisties from West Seattle down to Tacoma along the water.

No big deal riding a fairy ferry OM. This run is always subject to delays due to the weather and tides, so plan ahead. If you do find it delayed from the Port Townsend side backtrack to Kingston and get to the mainland that way.

Do let us know when you're in town...

As others have said, you go to the front of the line. Be sure to check the website, when they have extreme tides, they will cancel a couple of sailings in a row. Could delay you 2-3 hours.

Stop in if your in the neighborhood or need a place for the night.

OH ****, there goes the neighborhood!

The ferry's are the best. Nothing does my heart my good than to ride to the front of the line past all of the waiting cages. :fan_1:

Offer is still good on room & board. I know ya don't drink  but I have a bottle of Maker's Mark that some misguided sole from Creston sent me. Seems like that would a good time to break the seal.

WS Ferry rides generally do not require tie down action. BC Ferry rides do. They have ropes for this, and wheel chocks, but having your own ratchet straps is a good idea if you're doing any of the longer ferry rides. The Black Ball to Vancouver is no big deal, taking the ferry from Port Hardy to Prince Rupert, OTOH, you'll be happy to have a couple of ratchet straps.

You can buy tickets online for WS ferries. WS Ferry system
