Just became aware of a movement after the London terrorist bombings to program our cell phones to an emergency number. The guy who came up with the idea is a paramedic and he said that many times at the scene of an accident the person would have a cell phone but that they would not know who to call.

After the CFO incident and the nature of what we do, it is not a bad idea.

You can have "ICE, ICE1, ICE2, etc."

You lost me when you got to this point. Please explain.

Sorry for not being more clear.

If you mean line 1, one of the guys took a spill at the CFO meeting but fortunately he was not seriously injured and he was with some of the guys who were able to assist. From what I heard, he had a case of short term memory loss regarding the accident.

If line 2, you could have a number of alternative contacts.

ICE= In Case of Emergency

SO if you are unable to communicate i.e You are: Unconscious or suffering from an Altered Level Of Consciousness (ALOC) or you are dead or in bits etc, Someone can find your mobile phone and search your index by going directly to the "I" section in your phonebook and find ICE contact number 1,2or 3 and so on, to call in case you have been injuried.

I'd just rather they call 911 if I'm unable to function.
The idea is if they don't find ID or if you have med problems they can find out who you are and what meds you may be on, allergic to... ect.

If I'm incapacitated I still want people to call 911, rather than try and get in touch with, say, my wife. I'll certainly have "ID" on me (drivers license), but either way 911 is the first thing to do. If I have med issues, I'll wear a med-alert bracelet for that, rather than depend one someone a) finding my cellphone, and B) figuring out the "ICE" code. The emergency 911 system is so that we don't have to figure all this out.

I think it was for the ER dudes (After s/one called 911 and got you to the body shop).
