A little late reporting this, but I was told by a flying buddy of mine that Indiana's governor passed a Lifetime Personal Protection Permit law last month. Yes, the same jerk that made us join the rest of you yahoos on DST did ONE good thing for us.

My permit expired, oh.... a couple years ago. Found out when I went to buy a handgun from a retailer. Oops.

I went to the PD yesterday to finally get renewed. In July, the lifetime permit becomes possible. A little pricey at $100, but it's about $50 a whack every 4 years right now.

Oh, Gov. Daniels said it was OK to kill you if I catch you in my home too. I'm beginning to like this guy.

This isn't meant to start a POLITICAL DEBATE, it's just to point out that even though some things SUCK (DST), some good things happen in Indiana. Now I only have to be fingerprinted one more time by the local gendarmes. Well, I HOPE it's only one more time....

Maybe by the time I get to WFO I'll have the Lifetime Carry Permit.

Any other states have those lifetime permits for common folk? I hear of a nice case of reciprocity out west, where one permit is good in like 17 states?

I'll keep that in mind and temper my sense of humor accordingly. :agree:

Be advised it might not be recognized in NV, a CA permit isn't from what I've been told.

Isn't that the same state that is banning abortions for everyone no matter what?

I thought it was Missouri.
You are probably right I just caught passing by seeing the major or congress rep talking about in on the news...

Michigan is a shall carry state the law was tweaked last year to let us eat in restaurants that have a liquor license as long as the majority of the profits come from food.

So no more bugger king!

NY makes it very difficult to get a carry permit and the rules vary by county, but in most counties, once you get the permit it is good for life. Not reciprocal with any other state as far as I know.

Just remember kids.... that all goes out the window if you go north of the border....Canadian customs will go ballistic (excuse the pun) if you try & bring a weapon across the border.... than again maybe you'd enjoy sharing a cell with big bubba....who are we to judge

I was looking at this issue on the Canadian Customs website about a week ago. From what I saw you can bring over a hunting rifle/shotgun or other gun for protection against wildlife so long as you contact them ahead of time & obtain the necessary permit for inspection at the border. Just don't try to do it without getting that permit first. Apparently, they don't think too fondly of that.

Minnesota is 5 years $100. Your Indy permit is good here.Check here for packing.org for other reciprocity
Actually, Minnesota has a free Take-It-Up-The-*** permit. The state whose largest city likes to hire horny cheatin' lesbians as fire chiefs will be happy to see you get your ticket punched by some crack-head Chicago native, all in the name of diversity. Makes me wanna puke.

Last time I checked on it last year my Wyoming permit is good in Indiana for this transplanted Hoosier? However it isn't good in any number of states around the country and one must be careful not to come into a problem with carrying concealed in those locations. Some like New York have no sense a humor at all about packin' heat unless ya body guard for Rosie's O'Donnells kids?

Pisses me off that it's ok fer the bad guy to take yer *** out and the judge and the prosecutor and the defense attorny's all drive Mercedes to the courthouse for the trial. All you get is a ride in the back of a Cadillac station wagon? :(

I guess that's where the phrase "I'd rather be judged by twelve than carried by six" came from.
