This is a very useful piece of equipment that is very easy to make. I added split foam pipe wrap to the uprights to protect the bike's finish.

With the use of a ratchet strap and some soft ties, you can easily lift some of the heaviest bikes!

Hey that looks good.

Here is one that I found and built for my cruiser. https://www.nightrider.com/biketech/bikelift.htm

Look on that main page over to the left and down a bit for the $20 bike lift. It works fine and you can use it solo while sitting on the bike. I've even used it on the front to stabilize the bike and then jacked up the back to remove the back tire adn the front tire at the same time. I used some big eye bolts on either side at the ends to hold a tie down to the front uprights/frame.

With the fjr could you use the center stand to raise the back and then use this in the front to lift?

I've still waiting for my bike to come in and am not sure what the underside of the frame in the front is like.

There is no frame underneath. The engine "hangs" from the aluminum frame. Any lifting is done against the cast aluminum oil pan.

The only problem I can see with this approach is

1. There might be a clearance issues trying to put board and a floor jack under the plastics of a bike.

2. The questionable stability of the lifted bike. I would be quite nervous working underneath a bike with this sole device holding it up. :blink:

Just for a little more Beefiness, I used 1" Pipe in Lieu of the 3/4". Gave me more peace of mind. While it is not is use for the bikes, it makes a handy Coat Stand in the garage.

You can also rotate the legs 90 degrees to flatten it out and lean it against the wall, should you be tight on space.

This worked like a charm. Made one in no time. Just had to pull the cup off the floor jack for clearance.

That's good enough for me while removing the front tire. After removing it, I'd do what I always do on my other bikes: insert the axle and hold the bike with ONE jack stand in the middle of the axle. Good day folks.

+1 for 2 x 6 on the headers with floor jack. If I need to remove the forks, I leave the jack in place and use another piece of 2 x 4 or 2 x 6 scrap to stop the jack from "leaking" down.

If I need to remove the headers, I ask my wife to hold the bike up while I go get a beer.
