Left Park City this am at about 9:30 and am heading north to Calgary (final home town is Kamloops, BC) to meet up with the family who I haven't seen in almost a week. Currently I am in a hotel room in Helena Montana typeing this and reflecting on the past few days in PC - I have to say I NOW KNOW I have discovered religion - not in the Utah Mormon sort of way but more in the "I now know what inspires me." It is hard to put into words...

WFO-6 was incredible. I didn't get a chance to personally meet all of the participants but on the road today so much was going through my mind. I was thinking about the dinner last night and what I heard TurboDave say and what TWN said and what WC said and what George Z said; I reflected on the life stories I have had shared with me over the past few days and reflected on how fortunate my life is; I thought about what motorcycling really means to me... it is everything and yet it still ranks behind God and my family - but that's it! I had a chance to meet a bunch of people who inspired me!. I met a scientist whose research saves lives - I met a couple of LEO's whose work saves lives - I met an electrician whose work saves lives - I met doctors whose work saves lives - I met Veterans whose work SAVED/S lives. Yeah, to say the least, I am inspired. I may be Canadian but my life is richer for the past 4 days.

All this because two years ago I bought a motorcycle (at the time) for selfish reasons. Not no more - I am inspired - thanks to everyone at WFO-6.

Rich.

Being on a bike for long periods of time affords one an opportunity that sadly is often ignored.

That opportunity is one for reflection. One can go deep into introspection yet the demands of the road require our full and immediate attention.

This dual state of mind is a special place for me, and it is in that "zone" that I am most happy. Riding with Reno John on Friday was like that.

Screaming around the state while thinking of the past and having it all meld together in the blender of memory and immediate experience is like nothing else.

Sounds to me like you caught the LD bug big time.<G>

Glad to help in whatever way, see you next year if not sooner.

I met a bartender who saves lives....well, sorta. I was really thirsty.

Geez, man...George took me to this special place with his comments about riding, Zen and all that, then poof! Gone in an instant with your bartender comment - but it was funny...

I absolutely can relate to this state of mind. Every individual needs a place, places, or activities that bring out introspection. It seems these are seldom areas of sensory deprivation, but of sensory enjoyment. Riding sure fits :)

On Hwy 50 on the way to Reno I met some ranchers who save lives...well sorta...they were bunny ranchers who were trying to save the lives of bunnies crossing the road by getting people off the road...
