Link is dead, but what do you think? Works?
When the garage gets below 130 deg. I'll install and let you know Mike :) --- absolutely no reason why it shouldn't work.
Even on my '10 I used Dyna Matt and covered the whole piece that was in there. It is a sound deadening material used in car audio installs.

I have no complaints from heat or sound

I have the tank heat insulation kit from Ebay installed and it's very effective.

I just purchased this too. It just arrived today. Are you sure it won't melt under the gas tank? Is there a fire rating on this stuff? I am just concerned because it just looks like plastic bubble wrap with aluminmum foil type material on each side.

Hey Iris,

Not sure exactly what it is that you got. I bought a similar thing a few (many actually) years back and it has worked out fine (no meltage, no mess).

The original tank blankie was some sort of felt /jute core with a foil backing. I'm not really sure that that stuff was any more heat resistant than the new stuff. The only thing it wll do for you is keep heat outta the tank, which we '05 owners know is a worthy thing.

When I installed mine I put the foil side down (to block the heat before melting the insulation.

Maybe you could post a picture of your stuff (just the tank blanket :p ) or more info and we (or I) could be more helpful?
