I am looking at purchasing a Starcom 1 comm system. I would appreciate any comments that you may have. Will be using it with a multitec helmet, zumo 660, gme tx6100 two way. Not sure whether to go boom mike or full face kit. Any suggestion on this system or other systems for that matter most welcome. Thanks.

Since 2007 I have used the Starcom1 with full face Shoei's - my X11 and Sally's RF-1000 - and we use the full face helmet kit, and wear ear plugs. My Starcom is also currently hooked to a Midland GMRS/FRS 2-way with a PTT button on the grip, a Garmin 2730 GPS, an Escort 8500 radar detector, and MP3 player. Last year I did have a problem with the Starcom fading late in the day, but they replaced the printed circuit board for no charge (except for shipping to England). Since that repair no issues at all. I ride 2-up most of the time, and Sally can hear everything I do and she can also talk on the 2-way if I push the button first.

No experience with a gme tx6100 (citizen's band here?) radio, but I can't imagine it not working with the correct cable.

I'm getting ready to post my Starcom Advance system for sale here shortly. It's a rider + pillion system. I switched to Bluetooth so I can more easily use my phone and switch between multiple bikes.

I really like the Starcom system and would recommend it if you only want to use it on one bike.

Boom mic lets you talk with the helmet flipped up.

I have a Starcom1 and have had no issues with it.

I have a starcomm and use it with my Iphone and a midland gmrs/frs radio. Works great... I did try to use it with a hand held cb radio and it did not work... you just need to make sure you have the right cables for what you want to hook up to it... I don't ride 2 up very often but the few times I have it seems to work fine...
