Interesting Route

I'm looking for an interesting route from Orlando to Key West. Any other must see roads in Florida would also be appreciated.

It's been a few years, but used to take the backroads as follows.

Orlando (192) to Yeehaw Junction (441) to Okeechobee to Pahokee to Belle Glade (27 to 997) to Homestead (1) to Key Largo to Key West.

Consult Google Maps. Avoid the interstate highways if you want to see the real FLorida!

I'm sure some of the current Florida FJR owners can provide the current routing.

There's not many " must see " roads in the southern half of Florida ( and not a whole hell of a lot of them in North Flotida either ). The above referenced route from Orlando to Key West is about as good as you'll do to miss the major slab. I don't know when you plan to go but wait as long as possible to avoid the heat issue in South Florida.

Any suggestions on cheap places to stay in the Key West area.

No such thing as a cheap place to stay in Key West...I just got back from there yesterday and spent $235.00 on a room. Stop by and see the Coral Castle in Homestead Florida when you pass through.
