I did an interview with our very own FJRChick. She's a gem. You can read the entire interview here. Here's a snip . . .

When did you first ride a motorcycle?

I rode for the first time in the fall of 1991. Here is the story of what prompted me to ‘ride my own’.

I’m at a party with a bunch of guys from my unit and the talk turns to riding motorcycles. My buddy starts talking about how much I love to ride and what a great passenger I am on his sport bike. Apparently, my extra 120 lbs. is not enough to slow his bike down and the added weight on the back makes cornering more fun. Well the motor pool sergeant asks me if I’d like to go for a ride on his cruiser. I always want to ride on a motorcycle. Call it a weakness, call it a passion, call it what you will, I jump at any opportunity to ride without reservation.

The guy looks me in the eye and says “***, gas or grass?” Excuse me? What did you just say? He restates, “***, gas or grass? No split tail touches my bike without a fee”.

Now my Army days are long gone, and it took me a long time to clean up my language, so I cannot accurately nor as colorfully describe what I think of his attitude. An internal confrontation rages in my head. How could he say that to me? What kind of reputation do I have around the unit? Why am I in this situation? I’m not an *****. I’m perfectly capable mentally and physically to ride a motorcycle. I have an income high enough to buy a motorcycle. Why do I allow someone else to have the choice to give or take away something I desire?

That was the moment I decided to ride my own.

Now that is a worthy quote right there... :clapping: B)

Kinda why I started riding my own... the guy that I was dating moved back East to be closer to his family... just seemed simpler to get my own bike than a new boyfriend. :D

Glad yer riding a cycle there'Chick :clapping: ...in spite of and because of the fact that the guy was an ****** extraordinaire with no class whatsoever.

Thank you all very much!

I like to think of the guys that treated us like that and imagine they feel bad about it. It's probably not true, but I imagine it :D

Idjits er everware. Theys still sum 'round t'day, theys jist gone unnerground en theys skairt 'cuz thems laws es purdy hard on 'em fellers. Tew bayad theys plain stoopid. Saym kindy feller who'll go braggin' bout his tecknick wit thems womans, then he bees goin home all alone. We yous't tuh callum buffoons. Win theys be messin wit ar dotters er uther womens kinfokes, we callum daid. I s'pose we kud hope fer sum kindy turnabout. Mebbe he gots a womans soopeer-eeyer officer en shes bees pullin rank t'wards him. Er mebbe he gots a dotter en wunders about how shes bees treeted by thems mans thet take her onna dait.

Regardless, the good news is that you are a true motorcyclist.

Yup..heard that quite a few times, but I'd already had my own bikes by then...

Seems to be a mentality that "some" bikers have...

Way cool interview BTW.... enjoyed reading it very much.

One solution.... although I just liked the look...

I would get quite q few guys commenting that "You don't want anyone riding on the back, do you?"
