I'm in the army and the new tan boots look HORRIBLE after even ONE ride on the FJR. That black shift lever rubs off on them horribly. However some fellow riders have chrome levers on their (of course) harleys and other cruisers. Is something like this available for our bike? I have a sort of "shoe skin" that goes over the toe, but would love to not have to deal with the hassle of putting it on and off for every ride (to/from work, to/from lunch, and any other miscellaneous trips through the day). And I hate having to replace it almost every year due to wear and tear.

I've not seen any replacement shift levers. Why not come up with something that covers the shift rubber? A leather booty over the shift lever end to protect your work shoes.

Years ago I had a bike missing the rubber cover and used garden hose. I'd bet you could remove the black rubber and replace it with vinyl tubing.

You start with one small chrome part, and the next thing you know...
