My take: the "INTENSELY cool" factor of these things is rapidly 'cooling-off'. The 'party-pooper' is probably more 'on-target'?

I have a friend who's been trying for a year to sell one of these "kit-bikes" (even ebay) and just can't (yet) absorb the hit he's gonna have to take.

IOW, he's going to have to settle for a lot less than the inflated "cool factor" -- more like the 'nuts & bolts' value, imo.

The CL party-pooper is dead on the money in my book. The guy who posted the original ad let bad taste and an inflated housing market push him over the edge into a really bad financial decision, and now he's left holding the bag on a bike that's not worth near what he's estimated and a home equity loan digging into his pocketbook. There's no friggin' way he's gonna get 32.5 grand for that thing.

As an aside, that bike has the worst $15000 paint job I've ever seen. Guys selling T-shirts at the beach do better airbrushing.

Should I lowball him - 32 and not a penny more? :D
Subtract 15K....you WILL be having it repainted! Hopefully with a quality custom paint job, not that "joker".

Then you can enjoy the "cool factor" when you ride to the next FJR group ride. :yahoo:

I have a friend in Monterrey Mexico who owns one of those overpriced pieces of crap. He paid about $45K for his, but the paint is seriously boring (Green with offwhite pinstriping) and LOTS of chrome.

They are seriously not intended for any riding. Cornering? Nope. Smooth? Nope. Comfortable? Nope. Technology? None. Lighting? You'd do better with a mag light stuck in your mouth.

Buy three FJRs instead.

Choppers are alot more comfortable then you think.....nevermind.......I forgot I was addressing the HH commission.

It would sure look purty in the Annual Gay Pride Parade!

:taunt: :thumbsdownsmileyanim: :sicksmiley02: :russian_roulette: :eek:mg2:

24900 cash on the spot. all he can say is no . I f hes hard up for cash he will go for the loss . A nd if you really like the bike i mean keeping it for a long time . not for a investment go for it . What i think he will say is he has had higher offers (********) and say no to your offer and call you back in 1 or 2 days and say come pick it up .
