I have an '04 with about 60k on the clock, the last two , three thousand miles it's developed a pronounced rattling noise on the left side of the engine ;

1. more prevalent when the engine is cold

2. under part load (2000 -3000 RPM ),more noticable when rolling off the throttle

3. no noticable oil consumption or reduction in fuel mileage ( yet )

4. last and only valve adjustment , since new , at 42k

5. dealer claims nothing doing

- don't have access to a computer with audio , otherwise I'd listen to the " spoon in engine " thread

does anyone out there have any idea what this could be ?

:huh:

If you don't have audio......think if the sound is like steak knives being lifted off a steel table and dropped back on there. Closest textual comparison to the sound as I've heard.

Take the headers off and look for oil consumption. The dealer should know that. If not, they should call Cypress.
