I don't know why, but when things go wrong, they won't when the ones that can fix it are riding. :assassin:
Last Thursday, July 24th, I took my bike in for the 8000 mile service, got new PR2s put on also but thats an other story. Picked it up on Fri. Rode it around over the weekend and up to work on Monday, no problems. Tuesday I was on my way to work and all the sudden it felt like I hit the kill switch. It did it a couple more times, not as extreme, and then it was fine the rest of the way to work. So I left work early to take it back to the dealer and it did it another 8 or 9 times on the way there, like it was out of fuel, but it wouldn't do it for them. They said that they had check some of the throttle connections and checked for codes so maybe they had fixed it. So I took it home, no problems. Then the next morning, on my way to work, it started doing it again only worst. I had cars skidding around me one time because I had no power to get out of the way. Then it kicked back in and since I had rolled on to the throttle trying to get out of the way it shot me up the interstate in to the three digits. Boy did I have some drivers cussing me. Anyway I went strait to the dealer and left it with them, reminding them that the last time they serviced it the fuel pump went out two days later, from Wed. until today. They pulled the tank off and went over the fuel system, made sure that everything was connected, rode it around and nothing. The service manager took it home Wed. and Thurs. night, nothing. He called Yamaha service to see if they had any recommendations. They hadn't heard of any problems like this so they didn't know what to say. I just don't understand. I picked it up this evening rode it around the area, no problems. Then I got out on the back rodes (minor twisties+new PR2s= another story) and *!@#$%^&* if it didn't start acting up again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The only thing I can see that they are different from me is I take my mag mount tank bag with me. So I'll leave it on tomorrow and see what happens. I know its a strong magnet but that's nuts if that's what's causing it.
Any other ideas as to what else they could look at?
