So is that big ol'chevy 4 wheel drive? Your gonna need it to go get bread, milk and beer. Was that today?

We had a little over here, though not that much. Kinda defective looking stuff. Looked like miniature styrofoam balls. This ain't real snow. I ain't quite sure what it is, but it ain't real snow. I have lived where there was real snow. This wasn't it.

And I forgot my milk and bread. ****, I'm gonna die.

When I lived in Tucker, GA, I've seen slightly more snow than that paralyze Atlanta for several days.

During all times of the year you go grocery shopping except when a snowfall is coming, then you go 'lay in provisions'. Here in New Hampshire even a hint of a snow storm causes the grocery store shelves to totally empty of bread and milk.

Screw the bread and milk, it's time to consider being trapped at home without the prospects of beer or cigarettes for several days

Well, it's clear that it doesn't snow there very much.....to help you out, the standard snow list here in NC is milk, bread, beer and toilet paper!

Looks like it's time to do some internet searches on "snow blowers"... gotta clean a path through that stuff somehow...

Must have been a real blizzard. I hope it melts for you before riding season starts. :biggrinsmiley: We just got 18 inches yesterday and last night. First real snow we've had all season.

When I was living in Montgomery, AL a few years ago they were expecting what I would call a dusting of snow. They closed the office and sent everyone home at noon. They all thought I was crazy for staying at work to weather out the storm. Each to his own. They are more afraid of snowstorms than of hurricanes and I am the opposite. I guess it is what you get used too.

A lot of the southern panic associated with snow is due to lack of snow infrastructure. Even our roads are constructed differently than in the north which would prevent clearing with plows and such (even if we had such a thing). And nobody, I mean nobody raised here has any idea how to drive in snow. It's freakin' hilarious watching some of these folks try. Another problem is rural. Power lines get clipped regularly by weak pines falling under the addition of even the slightest bit of weight due to the lack of properly cleared right-of-ways in most rural areas.

We don't have snow tires. We don't have chains. Most don't have auxiliary heating sources. Snow usually brings power outages, etc. = Southern Snow Panic.

Night before last we got 14". Work was shut down, so I spent the day cleaning out the neighbors driveways (only person on the block with a snowblower). Got a plate of cookies, a plate of cupcakes, and free babysitting for next weekend out of the deal :yahoo: I like snow.
