I wanted to take the ugly red reflector off the bags, so I decided to use the same thing I used to removed the stupid warning labels from the gas taken. Well, I later read the label and it says I can use it on painted metal surfaces, but it's not safe for painted plastic or fiberglass.

Oh... here's why I read the label.

Also, found I out I'm getting divorced! How do I know? My soon-to-be ex-wife came home and told me so...

You need to Clarify that divorce thing, is that supposed to be a GOOD thing or BAD thing. I would consider the Bag Paint Mishap worse than the Divorce, but hey that is just me!!! :) Let me be the first to Congratulate you on being single Again. :D

I haven't decided... yet!
I guess the part that sucks is I'm unemployed. I was working for her as I started my own company. I have enough contracts signed to keep me going for a couple of weeks, but that regular check is going to be missed. I was trying to do most of my contract jobs on the weekend so that all the income from the business could be reinvested back into the business.

Oh well, I guess I can go riding tomorrow!

Sorry about the bike
Thanks... it hurts!

Is there another set of instructions that you forgot to read?

If you run across them, can you shoot me a copy?

Sorry to hear all that about your bad day....

Sorry to hear about your troubles... you have options on the saddle bag... repainting one shouldn't cost that much, if you find a good painter. Or you could tape off a neat design that covers the area, and use spray on bedliner... to keep the scuffs away as well.

Jeez man, if my wife came home and announced that she was going to divorce me because I messed up the paint on my saddle bags, I'd be glad to see her go!

Hope you can appreciate a little sense of humor at this time. I'm sorry to hear about your problems. Oh, sorry to hear about the divorce as well.

Sorry to here about your problems, maybe you can re-paint the bag.
Dude, that's really cold to say that about his soon to be ex-wife. You don't even know what she looks like. ;)

Sorry to here the news, my wife caled me 2 hours ago to tell me she put 30 gal of gas in the Excursion...its a diesel :( .

Before its to late get her to go on a reconciliation cruise somewhere....then take her for a midnight walk.... **** happens

Cary

Well Marc, Sorry to hear about the label mis fortune! :(

When something like that happens the last thing a person needs is to hear the other foot drop as well!

I kind of think I might be heading in a simular direction withthe later!

Not married but, we did purchase our home together 6 months ago.

Seems we may not be that compatible after all.

doesn't like to ride, spend money etc.

I do appreciate that she does not like to dig a hole as far as the money goes  , however I always say we can not take it with us!

BTW we work together too! So if that happened I'd probably be leaving that as well. :dribble:

Mike

Thanks for all the kind words... really. I guess it was a little "stupid" for me to post the divorce thing... but I was kind of thrown off by her "surprise" for me. She just tells me she's not happy, I need to move-out and she wants a divorce.

Now here's where you can tell I'm messed up in the head... after she tells me this, I get upset with myself because I'm missing a bag. (See part one of the story, I dropped off the bag after work to get painted.)

I was thinking tonight would be a great night to go for a long ride. Like maybe to Florida for a couple of days! Oh well, the bag should be back by the 4th... maybe I'll just pack up my dogs for a few days and head somewhere in the cage.

!st thing ya need to do is seperate your bank accounts and credit cards..ect!! write everyone that you have joint credit with and get out of the future liabilities.

Cary

Well look at the bright side....your breaking the circle & proving the old saying false.....the one that says "Life's a *****....then you marry one....then you die"....(I think any humour is better then no humour)....best of luck with the future.... :)

Dude,

Read to the music of Daniel Powter's "Bad Day". :)

Hope you don't have children...if not its a lot easier. All will heal with time...in the meantime please ride safe. Screw the bag...pales by comparison.

+1, Amen! I didn't...costs a lot...at this point do not trust her. She will protect herself...you MUST protect yourself. Get legal counsel as quick as you can. This is no longer a moral issue, but a legal issue, so treat it as you would any other breached contract. Sorry for your disappointment and future pain.

As to the "reflector-ectomy", why use any chemical? :dribble: I (and others) have merely heated the bag (I layed mine in the summer sun) then gently twisted the thing off with some large channel-lock pliers. No messy chemical stain and no repainting the pannier.

Bummer Marc, I start 17 days of R&R next week and have a big shoulder.. Come on over, and we can go riding....Smitty

Maximum suckage, dude. BTDTHTTSTPI. Look at the bright side: You can fix the bag for under a hunnert bucks. I'll leave it to you to figger of which bag and fix I speak. ;)

Is there another set of instructions that you forgot to read?

Uh, toe? No instructions, but you missed the 'quiet voice' in the vows? Twice?

What you said, "I do."

What she heard, "I do until you no longer need me and please make sure my bank account is nice and big when you take me for everything I have, including my dog. Oh, and when you do leave me, please kick me real hard in the balls just for ***** and giggles, k?"

Marc,

Sorry to hear of the problems - definitely a sh*tty day.

Keep the faith brother, things will improve. Look, you're getting your saddlebag back in a couple of days! ;)

Re. the other, +1 on the Protective actions. I'm watching a close friend's previously friendly "mediation" melt down into Orders of Protection and other crap. :(
