In the DC area, we already have over 2' of snow and the blizzard warning goes thru 10 pm tonight. :cold: We've now broken the all time record for the snowiest winter for the metro area. They were talking about another storm coming tuesday.....

I'm supposed to fly out to Monterey on monday. Hate to leave the wife to deal with another bout of this stuff. Had to dig out the heat pumps this morning.

Good luck flyer, I've been watching the news closely to see what this storm is going to do. I see that you guys are buried, already & still getting dumped on. Snow is expected here, but I'm talking a max of 3" or so.

Stay warm, Heidi in Norfolk, VA

Strange weather indeed. Here in So Cal, where it rarely rains, we're having another deluge. The dogs wanted out at three something this morning. Since I wasn't going to dry them off and clean their paws, I decided that they could stay out. They have a luxury, insulated dog house to keep them warm and dry. No, they howled at the back door and beat on it until they finally figured out how to open it. Yuck! wet dog smell. It's not as bad as two feet of snow but.....

Still coming down here, 26" or so already on the ground. Haven't seen a plow since last night sometime. I feel sorry for all those that have lost power; it's supposed to get pretty cold around here tomorrow. Guess i better go out and try to make some headway shoveling. Winter (this one particularly) SUCKS.

12+ inches here. 20 inch drifts.

Guess every thing is relative, don't mind the wet dog,or having to wipe him down. It's when I let him out for his morning pee and then have to go out and chip him off his ice pole, Brrrrrrrrr

Heidi you need to come to come to WV we're at 30" and counting.

This is the most snow we've had in a lot of years we're up to a total

of about 75" in 4 storms.

Take care and see you after this stuff leaves.

Just put some chains on the FJR tires. You wimps!
Finally, some words of wisdom; thank you Nate! Winter doesn't seem too bad here in Phoenix today, need to put sunscreen 50 on riding out to a chili cookoff though!

Please post up pictures/movies of your chains in action during this storm. We'll wait. <foot tap, tap, tap>

:D

Note: I've ridden my motorcycles for miles in snow when I was in my 20s and my bike was my primary means of transport. Now a days though, I don't subject my feej to that salt. Plus I have an enclosed heated cage now to drive to work in though the snow/salt mix.

...So whenever you're free to post up those pictures/movies...have at it. :clapping:

Now why in the world would they want to stay in a "luxury, insulated dog house" when... YOU're inside and they want to be with you!

Nothing quite like the smell of wet dog! Hope you're doing well..

Take care,

Mary

I've been watching the news of that Storm being repeated on the news over and over. Pretty serious stuff when you havent had snow like that in 100+ years. That's a big dump for us here in MT but not major. But we get 6-7 months of winter here also so were set up for it,mostly. Hang in there , stay warm and dry, eventually spring will come.

Picture was taken in SE part of MT in spring 2 years ago. Some of the snow in that area stuck around till June that year.

Ha ha ha ha NOTHING here!! just cold. Not one flake. We have a base of about 1 inch. The lowest snow fall on record here. Sold the sleds and am just snuggling up to the woodstove dreaming of the next bike ride.

I hate winter!

How's your day going?

Rob

Yeah...Global Warming sucks!
Unseasonably mild up here in my neck of the woods. :D

I can see why those in areas negatively effected by the changes in weather patterns think it sucks, but I'm all for this Global Warming thing! :p
