Hi All
I have a J&M CB wired to the FJR and VStrom. They have the license plate mounts which I hate. I made antenna mounts to install between the Givi rack and the bike's luggage rack thus grounding to the bike.
My question...Can I do away with the cumbersome two wire system with all the misc parts and ground cable? Figured I could go to Radio Shack and by a PL259 coax extension cable and go right to a stud in the mounting bracket. I am using a Firestick with folding adapter.
What say you? I suppose J&M chose the method they did since the antenna needed a separate ground due to the license plate mount being plastic on most bikes.
