Has any one by chance purchased one of the J & M CB intercom units, they look nice but they are pretty pricey, especially after you add up all the extras you need.

I am also seriously considering getting one of these units so I would love to hear of anyones experience with these.

Specifically, the cable connections. I have a set of helmet speakers and a walkman I have used for some years. The problem is I use the bike (and helmet) daily to and from work. So the plug connection only lasts about 2/3 of a season before I need to fix it. For the walkman plug its not a problem. Just a little 1.8 jack available at radio shack. But for the J&M its a speciallized multipin connector. My concern is how robust the connections are for day to day use and will they last. Or will I be stuck buying pricey replacement cables every year? I have no idea, but would love to hear from anyone with experience about this.

Yep.

:bleh:

Okay I'm asumeing you want my opinion?

I got the 2003DU; "JM-JCB03-CFRG" Phone,Radar Detector, ect... module; 2 headsets. I'm very happy with it. There is a slight ticking noise on the audio input but if you play music you can't hear it. If you get the "JM-JCB03-CFRG" don't get the "DU" get the "SL", the "JM-JCB03-CFRG" is set up for rider/passenger. THe best price I found was here www.sierra-mc.com .

I really like the J&M setup. The CB and intercom work great, but the XM radio is the best!! I've been very happy with the whole arrangement.

I have the J&M system 2003-du.I don't have the extra stuff for phone/radar/gps.Mine works great on the cb and cd/mp3 player. There are 4 people i ride with that have them and all are happy. Its nice being able to talk to a group of riders on long rides. The install is fairly simple:power/ground wires, antenna cable,2 headset connection leads(mine is the passenger model). You also have a push to talk(for cb) switch for the passenger to run to the back.
