J&M CB2003 on 15 FJR

Hi All

I have a J&M CB2003 on both my FJR and VStrom. I have my Zumo 550's running through them thus giving me GPS, XM, Traffic, weather and CB with only one cable to hook up - my helmet.

This system has served me well since 2008, but now I replaced my 06 with a 15. Here are my two questions.

Anyone mount this setup to a 15? The bracket does not appear to clear the nenu buttons not on models prior to 13. I don't see a newer bracket on J&M web site.

Any other systems to consider. I also replaced my Zumo 550 with a 665 but same net effect - GPS, traffic and weather. Thinking I should just stay as is since my cables work for both bikes, I am used to the operation and same eet up on both. However technology may be better now.

My buddy installed his with the normal bracket on his 2014. He can reach the buttons and doesn't seem to mind it. I rode his after he installed it. It was doable, but not great.

I can't find the post, but someone else bought the standard bracket. He bent it so it used the top bolt of the clutch lever clamp and then used the RAM ball mount to secure the other point. I'll update this if I can find it.

This was my installation on a '14ES. Took about 30 min. to fabricate the bracket. The biggest difficulty of the install was finding enough room for all the cabling. Ended up with most of it in the front faring behind the dash.

I like the way you did that, TP. Which J&M Bracket is that? Mine is the one piece FJR bracket from my 06 that attaches to the lever bolts.

Puts it in perfect position for PTT switch operation.
