She was the female chariot driver who got cut in half in the Colosseum in the staged battle with the Carthaginians.
I took this picture at Brands Hatch last year. She was also a gladiator herself in the series 'Gladiators'. (Getting a feeling of de-ja-vu here did I do this before?).
Interesting trivia. As Maximus is giving a piece of apple to one of the horses after the battle with the Germans at the begining of the film, if you look under the horse's neck you can see the legs and feet of someone clad in jeans reversing out of shot.
