125 race

Sorry if it's Brit baised but I don't follow the 125's too closely.

Smith led from pole by several bike lengths on the first couple fo laps. He battled for 2nd for a while then lost ground though and slipped to 3rd. it was a good dice for 3rd with 2 other riders throughout most of the race. Bradley Smith showed maturity and good timing to take 3rd. Third & fourth split by 3 hundredths of a second.

Corsi

Bradle

Smith

Danny Webb crashed mid race and walked off holding his wrist as though it was badly hurt.

Scott Redding 7th. Which is about where he started and held for most of the race.

Smith dropped down field at Qatar due to a suspension break down.

More to follow if my edit button will work. If not I will have to start yet another thread.

Steve Bonsey got 6th in the 125 race. He's a young US rider that had no roadracing experience prior to last season - he was a dirt track racer. Kenny Roberts is mentoring him. He had a substandard ride last season and is showing more promise this season.

Thats good news Randy, isn't it exciting to see youngsters shine?

Whats the feedback over there about Roberts? They said on TV that the deal was still live with the casino but it will be when they say. Apparantly they are talking megga bucks.

Heard some rumblings that the only thing that may happen this year will be the 2 US rounds under Duc power and back to a full season, assuming they get the funding. Unsure if it will be Kurtis and/or KRJR or if they'll bring someone else in from the outside.

I think if it had been a serious situation with a lot of money on the table they would have been on the grid at Qatar. We've all been there, building up to a season on a promise only to be let down. Looks like they have done it on the biggest scale.

Hope to see snr. back in the paddock. He has a lot to offer.....not sure about the other two. Junior seems to have lost interest or he would have been on someone elses bike by now, and Kurtis needs to stay at national level.

Gotta give KRSR a ton of credit with what he has tried to pull of with his chassis, but, I'm wondering if you shouldn't just give up at some point. It seems like he's always a day late and a dollar short with his bikes. By the time he gets an 800cc chassis up to snuff, they'll change it to 600cc.

KRJR lost interest because the program was going nowhere.

Kurtass can't even compete for wins at the national level anymore.

Maybe KRSR and Michael Czyz should join forces????

He's a John Britten type. See this thread.

All pertinent links are in the thread that is about a television special that is now airing in the states on this guy and his vision.
Interesting stuff, do you remember a guy from Australia who developed a bike from scratch and came over and did well at Daytona on it? Don't know what happened to him in the end.

That was John Britten, who Randy mentioned, but he was from New Zealand. He died from cancer in his 40s, unfortunately.

I was fortunate enough to see it run at Daytona and Road Atlanta. It made a sound unlike anything I had ever heard. I was also unfortunate enough to see Nick Ienatsch pitch it at Road Atlanta.
