anyone know the history of the FJ/FJR? What does FJ stand for?

I get the addition of "A" with ABS, and "AE" for ABS with Electronic clutch, but what's the FJ stand for?

Anyone know or have a link?

EDIT: goofed the title -- should be FJ/FJR --

I've asked this question several times to dealers and friends (never on this site) and have never gotten a straight answer. It's always something like...... "Fast Jack Rabbit"..... I'd like to know too !!

I can't really answer those questions, but I've heard that the "R" before the engine size is meant to denote a non-race-replica sport bike, while an "R" after the engine size is meant to denote a race-replica sport bike.

Nothing like second hand info based on guesswork, assumption and conjecture to clear things up, eh? :)
