I purchased a pair of Joe Rocket Ballistic 5.0 pants on clearance for $69 from Cycle Gear in Atlanta about 9 months ago. I know, you usually get what you pay for, and this was no exception. To make a long story short, when I sent them back to Joe Rocket last week, I had replaced both full-leg zippers with Velcro (not sure how safe that would be in the event of a get-off) and the cheesy-cloth elastic waist band was starting to come apart.

Yesterday, I received a brand new pair of Ballistic 7.0 pants and they appear much improved. The cheese-cloth type elastic is gone and the full length zippers are a little beefier. However, the zippers are still not as heavy duty as the one on my First Gear pants. IMO, the leg zippers are one of the most important features I look at when purchasing riding pants because they get used a lot. I usually pass on the wimpy zippers, but at $69, I figured I couldn't loose. Now that they replaced them with a new pair, I think I got a VERY good deal. :D

I have a pair of Ulter Ego(?) pants and the front zipper has deceased. Being the kind of guy that throws product documentation away, does Joe Rocket have some sort of unconditional warrantee?

Thanks

I have Joe Rocket mesh overpants and Joe Rocket mesh jacket; no complaints. The jacket is a couple years old and I've had the overpants for about a year. I'm sure there may be better stuff out there but I'm happy with the performance and the price I paid.
