OK techies here is a thought all be it (probably) pretty stupid.

I know Warchild is beta ing a stator.. but.. Has anyone ever thought of using a "cap" that is used to store power on large bass car stereos until it is needed then recharges itself.

Blast away!!

The capacitor is used to handle quick peak draws from the bass unit measured in fractions of a second so the lights don't dim. It's a device to be kinder to the sensitive electric componentry and keep bass sound reproduction as clear as possible. It's not a method to store amp hours of juice. And, they don't recharge themself either by the way....that would be a perpetual motion machine and TWN has the patent on that already.

Some car's also have extra batteries to handle the extra continued draw.

But, do you really want to have to strap a Die Hard to the back rack of your FJR? The problem on the FJR is there's enough amps to power lights from the alternator, but not enough to also power electric clothing in the dark and cold of the night. You run into a defecit and will wear down the battery long before the sun comes up. It sort of defeats the point of riding as a sport tourer doesn't?

It comes back to beefing up the alternator...or going nuclear.

-might work if you filled up both saddlebags with capacitors, I'm thinking, or maybe just one giant flux capacitor rated @ 1.21 gigawatts, but, when you hit 88 mph all hell breaks loose....

This could be handy in case of electrical problems. Add all the electric clothes and lights you want.

I'm working on a methane gas fuel cell for supplying extra power on my FJR. My kids say I am full of it!

:D
