Hello,

I am going to try to add some heat insulation like the 06 to prevent the heat from rising under the tank and seeping out the back of the tank on my legs, however if it fails to help.

What would you all think of something on this order thumbs up or down?

Do you feel that this would allow the frame vent to release the hot air prior to hitting me the rider or it is a waste of time, and money.

I think the expanding foam detracts from the looks. Nice muffler though.

I could be mistaken, (have 2 exwives, so I've been mistaken before) but I believe the heat is supposed to be disipated through the vents between the fuller fairing sections and away from the rider. So if you remove that large a piece, I would think it would be like parking your body in front of a couple huge heater vents. Besides, I don't think its going to look real good behind there.

I've always thought that the best way on the older models would be to try to direct the heat down and out-through that big ******** the pipes run through. Thats where my efforts have been directed-the fairing forward vents are fair game-it's the heat coming through the very rear of the fairing, and through the seat-tank interface thats a problem.

Is there room for an additional fan to help redirect the hot air away from the rider at slow speed?

Well, my thought was to wrap the header with what else but header wrap. Went from head all the way to slip on....funny thing is I'm not sure I can tell any difference. Has anyone else tried this or have any words of wisdom?

Just take of the fairing and see how you like the looks underneath.

Or, go ahead and post pics when you're done! ;)
