Well I had an old OLD AGV full face that I used to ride with, decided with the new ride I should have a new helmet as well. Just picked up a Platinum silver Nolan N102 from the Helmetshop in Daytona. Great helmet compared to my old one, and my ER6 earbuds fit under it fine! Nice to have the flip up part, convienent at the gas station!

Automag ... I don't wanna question your purchase decision, but I also have a Nolan. The first time I used the helmet, a couple rivets popped out of the lower chin area. I notified Nolan and after a couple weeks, they sent me a pair of new rivets. They would not stay in either. I just ride it with the rivets out.

Wonder if these helmets should be recalled by Nolan?? Hmmmmm.....

But, hey ... maybe you'll have a wonderful experience with your new lid. Oh, I had to modify the foam to contour to my seemingly normal face. Otherwise, I was having TMJ pain for several days after riding just a couple hours.

Cheers .......... BAGGER

I had a Nolan N102 on my cross country trip this summer and loved it. When my house burned and the helmet was destroyed along with everything else, the day before I bought my replacement bike, I bought another N102. I really like the helmet's features.

I'm not sure what rivets you are talking about, or if you are even referring to the N102, but I'd give both of mine a whole hearted two thumbs up.

Sorry, Scott ... my Nolan lid is an X-1002. I guess they are similar?? Anyway, the rivet is where the chin area meets the rest of the helmet. Pulled loose on each side .... still not connected. POS helmet. And, I beleive it was like $380 from Helmet Harbor. They are good folks, but the helmet is crap. My Symax is much better. But, both are quite noisey.

The N102 is the most comfortable helmet I have worn to date and easy to work the flip. It also has a safety latch so it takes a release to acess the button to lift the helmet.I guess noise is relative as most of us wear ear protection while riding. My N 102 is quieter than my Arais and way quieter than my HJC flip. The only helmet that I own that is quieter is my Shoei TZ1, but the ear holes are too tight to wear ear plugs comfortably. I rode with a full face two days ago and forgot what a pain in the arse they are compared to the flexibility of a flip. Fit is what most rate as the most important next to protection.

You'll enjoy many years with your new Nolan N-102. After a few years wearing the N-100 I replaced it (liner was getting thin) with the N-102. Way more convenient than a 1-piece full-face, and I like my chin too much to take a risk ("dress for the crash") and wear any sort of open face helmet.
