Got my second notice today also.. I figure if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

To many folks had problems after the "fix" unrelated to the "fix" and as the techs I've dealt with over the last few years haven't impressed me with new found competence, She'll stay unfixed.

I gota get back to work

I had a couple instances riding at altitude in the Sierras (On restart, the engine would stumble and act like it was flooded.), so I was glad to take mine in when I got the notice. Maybe the local dealers near me are better qualified than those near Barry.

No need to test it, when your TPS starts to fail you will have driveability issues with possible stalling and hard starting too. You don't need to do anything about your TPS until you start to have issues.

The TPS does not fail like a light switch -- on/off; good/bad -- it is a slow but steady deterioration that will not leave you stranded by the road. The beginning symptoms can be very subtle like unexpectedly stalling when pulling away from a traffic light. Once you start having problems have the TPS replaced. An experienced mechanic should be able to do the deed in <30 minutes.

And..., if you also happen to be turning at an intersection (when it stalls) there may be a very good possibility that you'll fall-over -- I did. All happened before we were aware of the 'bad TPS' issue -- I thought "WTF"...?

I'd have it replaced on that issue alone -- jmho. :)

I'm glad I looked over there too, I was in FJR specific discussions looking for threads...I too got the recall notice yesterday. I've owned the bike since new and never have had a problem with it. (D&H knows how to put a bike together?). Anyway, was debating taking it in, but think I'll wait until I have problems. Thanks!

Gunny!

When it does start going bad, believe me you will WANT to have it replaced. BTW, on my FJR #1, the TPS didn't start going bad until 70,000 miles or so.

Just recieved the recall yesterday for my '05

I'll be takin mine to the stealer as soon as the saddle returns from Bill Mayer.

Just got mine yesterday. Stumble problem at take-off was fixed with the PCIII. Since I don't trust any of the dealers around here, I will probably wait and see if it develops into a real problem.

My engine starting cutting out at random moments in heavy traffic on the Washington DC beltway. A total, complete lack of fun.

Yes, it's a safety issue. Go ahead and get a new one for free.

Geez (anxiety kicking in), 79k miles on my '04, and I'm getting ready to head to Key West from Nawlins' in 6 weeks.

Hope I'm not on borrowed time and vast majority of bikes never show any problem.

The local Yammy shops here (2 in total) are pretty much crappy IMostHO's around here.

just got my second recall notice for the TPS this week. Don't remember getting the first one. All seems to be fine, so I'm just gonna wait till something goes wrong. Then I'll fix it. 04 w/28k.
