I'm looking for recommendations of where I can have internet purchased tires mounted and balanced for a reasonable price within the Kansas City Metro area.

I don't want to give up quality for price... I'm willing to pay more than bottom dollar to ensure quality.

I'm on my second set of tires. I had my Avons mounted and balanced at Engle Motor's in Independence, MO (the BMW & Triumph dealer). I was very pleased with the quality of work by Engle Motors. They took very good care of wheels and did not damage or scratch them. They seemed to be well balanced and they used stickon weights. I was a little unsure of stick on weights as I've never had them before, but they seemed to work well. I'll probably take my next set back there... that is unless someone can convince me that I can get the same quality elsewhere, but cheaper. I removed the wheels from the FJR and took them into Engle Motors with my Avons that I purchased online. Engle Motors charged me $30 per tire to mount and balance them. The total bill was a little over $60.

Thanks in advance for any recommdations anyone can give me.

Thanks,

BeardO

That is probably going to be the going rate around town here in KC. There is a guy down on Merriam Lane, Cyclops Cycle, I believe he charges $ 25.00 to mount and balance. I have not used him but people speak highly of his work. If you are going to buy mail order tires you should get a tire mounting machine, and a static balancer. They are not very expensive, and don't take up much room. Do a google search on wiko or wicko tire changers and take a look at whats available. I've been doing all my tires for several years now. The equipment pays for itself pretty quickly.

Good Luck,

DCH
