Kenwood Radio

I am in need of a kenwood radio and ordered one last week. I just recieved an e-mail that the TK-3101 has been discontinued.

I went to kenwood web site and found THIS What I need to know is will it work both with the bike to bike systems and with others who have the TK-3101 Radio. I appears to me to be an updated replacement but didnt want to order without knowing foresure
