I'm getting a loud knocking frim the front Mr Blue 58 says its the fork springs but when I apply the front breaks it seems to stop or quite down, does anyone have or had the same experience. Also #1 cylinder is quite off from the other three when doing throttle sync 2 bars higher.

When does the knock occur? Under braking, over bumps, pulling wheelies, doing stoppies? :D And why is Bob selling his FJR?

It does it all the time and Bob says he can hear it when he's behind me, he bought a 04 ABS ST1300 says its smoother shifting rideing and better wind coverage.

Holy ****, Roger! That ain't good, my friend. Check your steering head first. Then check the brake calipers and rotors. It could be the shocks if you've run them outta oil or toasted it. When was the last time you changed the fork oil or checked the seals?

If he can hear it while riding behind you, I'd park it until you found the problem. Steal the wife's Wing if you have to ride...

1) front floating disks are rattling, subject of a recent thread, do the search, seems that it is not uncommon

2) loose hardware, check to see everything is tight

3) steering head is loose; place bikie on center stand put something like a 2x4 on a jack, slide under header pipes (avoiding plastic) and jack up until the front wheel is off the ground (have someone help stabilize the bike) kneel down and grab both fork tubes and try to move them back and forth; front to rear -- if the steering bearings are loose you will see/feel play and may hear a clicking noise; rotate from side to side, should move smoothly with no sticking or grinding; listen to see if something is hitting the forks (loose horn, loose super brace, etc.)

4) not enough preload on the front forks and you are hearing the rebound rods or the fork springs rattling; you should see ~2 or three adjustment rings under the 17mm nuts on each side -- fork preload adjustment check and adjust method is in the OWNERS manual, no service manual needed

5) [assumption] you haven't seen leaking fork seals [/assumption]
