Highway 13 to lolo via kooskia is a real Charles Frank, cost us an hour sitting in the hot sun and 5 mph pilot cars. There is an alternate through Kamiah to 95, now I know.

I was planning that route on Aug 11th. Might have to re think that.
It can be bypassed to Kamiah if you look at a good map. We found the second half of the Lochsa/Lolo route to Missoula to be in rough shape, sufferable on my FJR, my friend on his VFR was beat to crap and very cranky by missoula. Also the visitor center at the pass closes around 4:30pm Montana time.

Three of us did 13 last friday and had to wait (also in the sun) but it was only about 15 minutes. I don't think there will be the same problem in august as it wasn't like building a new bridge, just road improvements.

Rebuilding road section edge that was washed into river, I would have checked 511phone# if I would have had my brain on.
