Had a great ride today/tonight. Listened to 'An American Prayer'

poetry by Jim Morrison

and got inspired.

I know most of ya'll won't get this thread at all..

but just in case someone does...

Random musings

I had a biz related ride from Creston, CA to California City, Ca.

Oh how it sucked.

I saw a full-on cattle drive, with hundreds of cows

blocking the road

fresh urine and poop

on the 85 degree asphalt top

and it smelled great, really, an acquired smell

Recall my friends father, a farm kid

living in the city

hated the fact

everything so clean

no assault to the senses

no farm around town..

he would have been happy today on 58 RIP, Earl Krick

these smells for you

I rode across high desert and smelled chapparal

crossed the centerline and passed slow-pokes just in time

the FJR powerband at 8k is enough to blow the mind

Red Rock Canyon is beautiful at sunset

a wild coyote crossing the lane

trapped by the fence line

that man maintains

he made it safely

wonder if he'll find a mate

does he know it's Friday?

It's just another survival day

in a dog eat dog world.

Saw a CHP pilot in his little foo-foo plane

decided that he couldn't out run me -

wicked it up guess I was lucky, don't have to pay a fee

wonder if the mail will cause me some pain?

Rode at night, something I don't like

learned some lessons all right?

Dirty shields screw up the light

of on-coming cars

and naked glasses don't go far

they soon distract and defract the light

a little water and rag

clean the shield

make things all right

Lights blind, turn the head

gutter ride, like Tocutter said

saved my *** when the car illegally passed

saw the trim of the bumper, one foot away

as I rode the white line

giving up my right of way

the gutter is your friend

the temperatures rise and fall

grape harvest in full swing

I see the lights of the vineyard machines

the bugs are bad

and smack at will

I arrive at the house safe and sound

Brilliant!

Celebration of the Sausage Creature

Took our son to UCSB last weekend. That means weekend motorcycle visits in the future, including stopovers to see dCarver in Creston.

Thanks for tossing a PSA into that prose!

I hope I can stop coughing up lung tissue and go ride soon....

Any more esoteric in your muse, and I might think you were channeling Jim Morrison B)

Channelling Jim are we :dribble: Great stuff d-thanks for shring and BTW:

Show me the way

To the next whiskey bar

It appears as though our Mr. carver has started the Harvest, an sampled some :dribble:

Careful Don .. That stuff is rough on guys yer age.

 :p

:jester:

An American Prayer perhaps the best of the best of the Doors. Riding through Red Rock state park at dusk yesterday, these lyrics..

Indians scattered on dawns highway bleeding

Ghosts crowd the young childs fragile eggshell mind.

JM had a way with words, just sayin'...

Brilliant!
