I heard/read/or dreamed or something, that KTM and Polaris were looking to merger.

The thought was that don't really compete now, and have product lines that compliment each other. So -- Victory dealers could now also sell the entire line of KTM, and Polaris dealers may be able sell Victory, etc.

Anyone heard more details, or updates?

Polaris bought 25% of KTM last year with an option to buy the rest of the company next year. The two companies really are a good fit, with strengths where the other may have some weakness. I was at the Polaris annual shareholders meeting thursday and they brought up some really good/interesting points. There are currently 7 joint projects being worked on (they wouldn't say what they are). Also, I didn't realize that KTM is the second largest bike manufacturer in Europe, behind only BMW.

sks -- thanks -- it'll be interesting to see how this pans out, and what the 'joint' projects are. Just hope it has nothing to do with drugs.

Seems like the combination has the abillity to make both product lines much more available.

I can't wait to see what products these two can come up with. A KTM engine in a Polaris snowmobile might just be SWEET. :D
