For those that don't know - this is the auction for the cars from Lambrecht Chevrolet dealer that closed some yrs back. I guess old man Lambrecht never sold any of the trade ins, or any of the new ones that weren't current yr (that he didn't sell during the model yr).

Many are in bad shape, but still getting big money. Dang, these folks got more disposable income than me! Holy Moly, been switching back and forth between that and Barrett-Jackson, and honestly as inflated as the B-J cars are, at least those are restored!

"....at least those are restored!" Funny you would say that actually. I had just read the article about this auction before coming here, and it's because those cars are not restored that this auction has caught the attention of major car collectors world wide. There are about 50 cars with less than 50 miles on their odometer, and a few with less than 5. Amazing actually. The auctioneers handling this auction can't even put a price on what some of these cars will fetch. The man had around 500 cars and trucks stored at several locations around town.

I believe they said 496 on the show last night...

I wonder if Bust bid on that pedal Corvette...

Well, true, and I understand that part of it. Butt - there were only a handful of the cars that were in any kind of decent shape. Many were stored outside and were in really poor condition, low miles or not. That's what I meant by that. One of the C10 trucks still had the tree growing in the bed.

That first truck sold - the '58 Cameo was in somewhat good shape - and it went for for $140K IIRC. At B-A I think I would have saved some money and bought the perfect '68-1/2 Mustang CJ428 for $112K. There were other examples of clean, running cars that were un-restored @ B-A too. One thing for sure, the auction co @ Lambrecht sure did their job!

Oh well, all out of my price range, that's for sure! Except I might could have bought that Chevelle SS396 with ~4 miles on it that had had a tree fall on it, it went for a paltry $28K.......
