Website is up for the 10th annual edition of the LOE 1000. It will run October 2nd/3rd/4th. Have a look and remember if you're pretty sure you might want to participate, make your room reservations early as that's the same weekend as the International Baloon Fiesta.

I'm thinking this would be a great first rally.
It would be a most excellent first rally!

It was my first rally back in 2004 and is still one of my favorites. Ira does an excellent job of making it easy for first-timers or those who want it to be easy, and at the same time challenging for those who want to be competitive.

I can't wait!

This one will be interesting starting in Alb this year. I'll be there it will be my 3rd. Ira and Jeff always put a new twist on it, you never know what you're up against. Great first rally as SkooterG said.

Skooter G, I couldn't agree more.

The LOE is a Premier event and deserves greater recognition. It will make a fine first rally.

As to how a RM can make it noob friendly yet challenge the big dogs, its all in how you structure your rally concept. Its not that hard if you have a knack for it, and Jeff and Ira certainly have that knack.

I prolly can't make this one but if I can I'm THERE!

I was on the outside looking in last year, not gonna happen this year! I'm sending in my app today! I live here in Albuquerque, about twenty miles from the starting location, and have done an in-state Iron Butt on my own, Feel free to contact me with any questions about the area and facilities available to you. I don't know much about the actual rally, haven't done one yet. The weather that time of year is the best riding weather we have all year! :yahoo:

LOE is a wonderful rally run by truly great people. I've been there the past three years but looks like I'll be out of the country this year.

This Rally is a blast :yahoo: Jeff and Ira do a great job!! :clapping: :clapping: I wish I could make it back down again this year, hopefully I can make it back in 2010.

One thing I did learn last year, when it rains down there it F@#^ing RAINS

Yeah that can be an understatement  I'm back again, last year was a disappointment and need to redeem myself.

I told you I was getting in early so I didn't get left out and I'm second on the list, Woo Hoo :yahoo: Ther are 2 FJR's, 2 Goldwings and a BMW.

Just made my room reservation just in time. The web site said last room avalible.

Entry goes in mail today.

So make that 3 FJR's

Only two FJR's entered so far? WTF
Don't get you all. I just did over 5000 miles in two weeks. Loved the trip, but my longest day was 650 miles and I hated it.

I like to get on the bike for 3-5 hours (unless the scenery is magnificent, which was the case many times) and get off and look for a barstool and a beer. 1000 miles in 24 would constitute punishment for a crime to me.

Too each his own, yall have a great time.

Its just what you Enjoy.

I just did the NSR rally and did 1385 miles on day one and 1365 miles on day two.

It has alot to do with a properly set up motorcycle. To be able to do those miles .

I agree 100% it is all about what you like to do. Setting up the bike helps in the enjoyment. Last year, when I did the RWYB I ran it on a stock FJR and had a blast this years IBR I'm hoping the additional toys will help increase the fun. The NM LOE is a great rally, they do a great job setting it up. Ira always tries to add a new twist, so you never know what's up.
