Trying to figure out a way to swap out the 04 springs I put in last year for the Wilbers without pulling the the fork tubes. I just want to leave it all on the bike and maybe drop the front end to do the head space measuring. My fork oil only has one season on it so I hate to have to change it.

Most of all I'm just freakin lazy, just got through installing the spieglers (man that clutch line was a BITCH), and I'd just like to be done with it.

Anybody make the swap the lazy way?

I didn't, but you should be able to.

If you remove the handlebars (or you funny ones may clear already), you can access the top nut of the forks, and open them up that way.

Problem is, you can't get the fork oil level set right. I believe you'd save yourself a lot of hassle if you just take them off the bike. You'll probably end up doing it anyway.

Ramblin, there was a bit of discussion about this a little while ago--click on the link and scroll down, starts with the post by Igoforit. It seems doable. Some good tips by Rad, while he was still posting knowledgable, interesting and important technical advice. B)
