The Mountains could take a WHOLE LOT LONGER!!!

Reading all the valued advice here says "Spare KEY!!" I HAVE searched, and come up dry frankly... Can any of you shed the "brightest places" to keep a Spare so that I will STOP doing the Moron Trick of leaving my Car Keys in the Deck Lid when I fetch something from there... It's my mobile Toolbox - Yes - But for the 3rd time, I have now discovered my keys hanging from the Trunk Cylinder after 2-3 days of lookin' for 'em...

Just imagine that I only locked the keys in the Truck ONCE when I was 16 in High School... In the past 4 years - well - it's been at LEAST 8 times!! Sounds like it's starting to be time to call myself "Al" IYGMD...

Thanks for any input Folks!

On a chain, around your neck...

How about in the pocket of your riding suit? Other idea I liked was SacMike cut the top off a key and keeps the functional part in his wallet.

Neither is as likely to get your bike stolen as posting a "hiding place" on teh intarweb.

+1 in a pocket in your riding gear that you usually don't use- one with a zipper or snaps so it can't fall out.
Doh... Duh... What a Dolt...

I got very much used to having a LH Lower-Arm Jacket Key-Sized pocket that would be the Perfect place like you are suggesting in my former Leather...

Now that you have made me think it through a bit though... I've got some 3 different Ventilation Sleeves on the Rear and Sides of My currently-used jacket!!!

THANKS for the GREAT INPUT!!! I'm NOW SET!!!

THANKS RV...

I like the idea of partial key... Thanks for sharing...

Done Deal!!

p.s. Sac Mike ... I AGAIN continue to appreciate the earlier notes that you sent re CFR... I MAY be "wandering into" NAFO as was so courteousle suggested by my "gracious CFR Host"...

Mebbee See YA There!!!

One extra set of keys(top case, disk lock ignition etc) goes in my packed luggage (sidecase) and a single key goes in my lower sleeve pocket on my jacket. If I can't keep track of my jacket then I've probably also misplaced the bike also

mine is a flat, harder metal key from my locksmith under a piece of black duct tape on the bottom of my glove box.

I can pop it open easily with my fingertips wrapped a bit under the cover.

Ever go outside and think of something you'd like out of your side case, or find something in the garage you want to stick IN there? Ever have to go back inside the house to get your damn bike key? Another good reason to keep a spare in the wallet. It doesn't have to be your ONLY spare, ya know. :coolsmiley02:
