When I first joined the board, I was abused. Particularly abused about being from Texas. Somewhere in all that abuse, I posted a link to a song that I had "roughed up" called "Let Me Die In Texas"...just to drive the point home. The song is now recorded, mixed and mastered.

I am reposting the link to the finished song...because...I like abuse.

It is a country song. If you don't like country music, don't click on the link. If you don't like the song, I don't like you. j/k

Anyway I wrote it, produced it and play rythm guitar only with a little back up vocals. I hope that some of you like it.

Do you have a fan club? Who is the president? (of your fan club, I know who that other guy is...)

See ya Saturday!

Haven't done either yet. Filed copyright forms for authorship with Library of Congress. Really don't have much insight into ASCAP and BMI. Any words of advice?

Hire a song writer

You have a good voice, nice intro, gets a litte long winded before you get to the hook/ refrain

Overall its an O.K song

I'm not really into country and I ignored your advice to stay away. But it's not bad at all.

Oh, and I see that you're still here. Seems that I'm a couple of weeks away from owing you a beer. :drinks:

Hey, that's pretty good there, cowboy. I like it! I usually like zippier tunes (odot, forget the edit, I already know what you'll do), but I kinda dig this one.

Now, having said that, can you hook me up with the Tresa chick? ;)

Yeah - go to their websites... if you still have any questions PM me.

SESAC is by "invitation" only. Copyright is a must - if you think it might get published, recorded and sold, or played on the radio - investigate the performning rights companies.

Sending the lyrics to yourself by registered mail and not opening (poor man's copyright) will not hold up in court. No attorney can do anything for you. It just proves you sent yourself a letter. To be protect your work you have to use the Library of Congress registration. (Short form is easy to fill out, but takes a while to come back)

BMI and ASCAP don't charge to become a member, and will secure performing rights royalties for you...

I filled out the PA form and sent it into Libray Of Congress with 45 bucks first off. Thanks for your advice. Will start looking into it.
