UK Rookie Lewis Hamilton is set to break a record in only his 3rd F1 GP. He is lying 2nd on the grid for today's Bahrain grand prix. He has finished on the podium in his first two F1 races and if he does it again today he will set a new record. He is ONLY 22 and ENGLISH!!!!

I can't say I've followed him, but I have heard of him and he is what we would call a a "phenom" on this side of the pond. Then again, Jim Rice was supposed to break Hank Aaron's home run record. Time will tell. If he brings excitement to the sport, good for all.

UPDATE:

He finished 2nd. & made history. He now shares the lead of the championship with 2 other drivers.

11 Seconds ahead of his team mate (current world champion).

Why has this post been moved?

Surely off topic is a closer description?

F1.....cars!? Nothing whatsoever to do with motorcycles, and so....off topic?

I Agree. I have never been on a forum before where the powers that be are SO concerned with where a post goes.

Thought the race was great although I would have liked to have seen Raikkonen win. I think Masa just got lucky. Hamilton is awesome. This will be an incredible season

I am not an F1 fan, but will be watching this boy, he seems born to it, and he is English...at last, light at the end of the tunnel!!!

Maybe more like an oasis in the desert? :D

This from a person who remembers Jackie Stewart, Graham Hill, Jim Clark, et al. Hmmmm, perhaps I'm exhibiting my age.

And the admins probably thought, "Racing", not differentiating F-1 from WSB or Moto GP. They're just initials and "foreign" names... :dribble:

Oasis....desert.....Yes!

Jim Clark was my hero, I remember being mortified when he died, I was still only a kid.

He is ONLY 22 and ENGLISH!!!!

Bring it on! You've lost twice already :p But this time when you burn the White House.... oops, almost a political thought

As for this kid, I might start watching F1 since the Stewarts and Andretti's, etc. retired

Yes, quite an exciting season so far. The next Schumaker; a little premature, don't you think? Looking forward to the rest of the schedule.

I'm just trying to say, I'm reserving judgement. Might, very well, exceed all expectations, just not ready to jump on the bandwagon yet. :) Oh, and by all means, enjoyment the moment; didn't mean to rain on your parade.
