I'm on a specials email list from Buy.com and I noticed that they have 20GB on sale for $99 shipped. This seems like a pretty great deal to me.

These are refurbed 4th gen units, but it is the exact same one that I bought about a year and a half ago for over $200. It would be a good buy to strap on your feejer. 20GB is a whole lotta music and for $99 if you mess it up after a while no big loss.

The only downside is because these are disk drive type iPods (not solid state) you do have to isolate from vibration or they will lock up after a while.

I have no affiliation with Buy.com. I have made some pretty good purchases from them and never had any customer service issues. Just thought I'd pass on the deal.

Don't strap a hard drive equipped device to your bike.

Certainly you can stick one in a pocket of your riding jacket - but a hard clamp to a vibrating motorcycle is a recipe for disaster.

Absolutely correct, hence my warning.

I strap mine to a little tiny tank bag on the FJR, but fastening it to a regular size tank back works just fine too.

I use a velcro wrist band. The refirb 20-30gb units go for $99 all day long on ebay through clearing houses. I got one a few months ago after mine was stolen.

OUTSTANDING FRED! I took them up on the credit card off too!Dropped the price to under $70!I was troubled about what to get someone for Christmas and you solved the delima!Getting two of them. Will fit just fine in my inner jacket pocket.

I must be just lucky. I velcro mine to the clutch master. 26k and it has locked up three times. Just wait a little while, push the center button and the bottom and it resets.

Excellent. I had forgotten about that offer. I already used that bullet a while back, then got rid of the card as soon as it came in.

But I'm glad it was helpful to a few of you'se folks.

Not a bad price,

However,

I have been through 3 separate mp3 players (all different brands) that were hard drive style. The hard drives simple fail!! Sooner than later if they get more vibes(attached to bike)than not. NEVER AGAIN!! I now have switched to only flash memory style (8gb plus a 2gb mini SD card with my Sansa E280 makes it a 10gb player) and I do strap this unit to my clutch reservoir AND jog with it. NO ISSUES EVER. The flash units do not have a hard drive with a needle that wears out. NO inner working parts on the flash units.

Just my .02

I have burned up over $700 in US dollars on the hard drive style players... They are the way of the dinosaurs... Buyer beware!!!
