Check your baggie of **** that came with your bike. The one that has your little blue plastic thingies that go where the bags mount if you don't have the bags on, and your spare lock for the top box. I just noticed I have a spare grommet in there...
(Either that or that's where I put mine cause I run a cable through the bottom and once you pull it out you can't get it back in, or at least I couldn't get my hands in there to do it.)

I think that is where you put yours.
+ 1 on the cable running thing. When I popped mine out to run a phone charger, it disappeared in the bikes black hole. It never hit the floor.
I had the same problem when I popped it out and slit it so I could get a gps cable to run thru it, I gave up and just left it lie on the bottom of the box. Then I was at Smitty's and he put it back for me , guess you just need to know how.
