Just picked up one of these from Twisted Throttle:
It mounts on teh licens plate mount and you attach your plate to the box.
I was wondering if anyone else has any experience with it being waterproof or not.
It looks to mee like it's sort of "upside-down". The cover is actually smaller that the base in that the sidewalls of the cover slide inside the sidewalls of the base. Likely going to collect some water in there in a good rain.
Might try to figeure out a way to mount it the other way around, but the features for the lock are molded in, so it might be tricky.
There is a very thin gasket inside the base, that looks way inadequate to keep out water.
I might just put everything in a heavy gauge ziplock and drill some drain holes in it to let out any water that gets in.
Something like this made out of steel would be sweet.
Still not bad for $20.
