I see the use of threadlockers mentioned in various forums, and rarely is it mentioned what damage the liquid threadlockers can do to plastic, or if it is mentioned there are no alternatives offered. So... I figured I just post this information for those that don't know.

Loctite makes a line of products, including anti-seize and various grades of threadlockers in semi-solid stick form. These products are easier to apply, stay where they're put and can't run onto plastic causing damage. I've been using these for over a year now and they do work as advertised.

Thank you for the information. I didn't know it came in this semi-solid form. Will be glad to get rid of my half plugged up big bottle of blue loctite that always comes out like a big blob of catsup making a mess. Thanks for taking the time to post this.

The dude's not kidding about the damage that can be caused by liquid threadlockers. My Connie always had fasteners vibrating out of the various mounts for the fairing. Dumb ass me took a bottle of liquid threadlocker (IIRC, it was a Honda branded product) and used a dab on each fairing fastener. One week later, all the little plastic tabs on the fairing had disintegrated, had to replace ALL of the fairing panels!! Had the insurance company come out to look at it, they decidied it was "wind damage" and covered it. Nice of them, but never again with that liquid **** around plastic. That sucked!

I tried the stick form of the anti-seize; it crumbled off, making a bit of a mess and was not as easy (as the old stuff) to get it exactly where I wanted. I'll probably go back to the 'usual' tube stuff for anti-seize usage...
