I'm at the end of eastern Long Island in NY, closer to CT and RI than the rest of NY State so I am wondering if there are any riders from these areas who get together for weekend rides....Would love to hear from you guys.

Hey axeman, come over to Port Jeff, the lime (Long Island motorcycle enthusiasts)riders usally take Sunday rides out of town. And in the summer in the mornings, the old OBI off Robert Moses has hundreds of bikes, classic cars which meet.

Good info, thanks FJ. In the summer it usually is easier for me to jump three ferries and take the show into Connecticut rather than deal with the traffic on Long Island. I'm far enough out on the island that there is really only one way for me to go, unfortunately, and that is to head west into the fray..

Axeman,

I ride with a great bunch of guys out of Port Jeff. We usally head out your way and the hit some nice twisty roads up and down the Forks. We can always hook up w/ you at some point along the way. If we bail off the Island, We hop on the ferry right from port. Then head up Blackrock Turnpike in Conn. and get lost for the day.

You're always welcome.

I agree, not many good roads in western Suffolk, or Nassau. And to ride around through the city could get sketchy. I put most of my mileage on this summer by going Upstate or into Conn.

Axedude, Im just outside New Haven CT waiting for my 06A to show up. I'll tag along sometime. Where does the ferry land?

Axeman,

PM me for some ride time. I've got a bunch of guys I ride with to Cold Spring on early Sunday mornings. We also go to Center Moriches. We can hook up some time.

LIME is still alive!? Geeze, I thought they died out years ago. Who's left? Ralph, I guess, eh? LOL

Anyway, I'm in NYC ... and regularly ride up to Thompson, CT ... which is just about the point where CT, RI, and MA meet. I can do a tri-state tour in about two minutes HAHAH.

If you decide to do a ride out west (geeze, NYC ain't west of much), lemme know and we'll show you around ... do a quickie to the Catskills or through Litchfield County backroads ... or whatever.

:)
