Good evening All,

The decal fell off my OEM top box lid and I'm looking to replace it. It is recessed into the lid and needs to be pretty much the exact size (it is rough and unfinished underneath.

It is an unusual size (1 3/8" diameter) compared to the other decals on the FJR and as it turns out other Yamahas.

The dealer cannot find a match visually, nor does Yamaha list a part number. So I call Yamaha USA and after getting the requisite run around, the "product specialist" tells me "we don't sell them." He said they can only get the whole item. I suggested he could contact the factory in Japan on behalf of a customer and he mumbled something that equated to: they didn't do that as the factory wasn't interested. He suggested after market via the internet.

I'm looking for a source for the specific size and wonder if anyone has run across the same issue in finding this decal.

Thank you very much! I just went and measured the glue residue and the actual size was 35mm. 36mm will fit for sure in the recess and possibly even 37mm. Much easier to source the 37mm as comes from a US supplier but the 36mm would be best. I noticed the 36mm version equates to an XS1100 - might see if that helps.

You are welcome!

So,in the first or second link you can buy two 36mm decals from ebay for about $15..

Or if the 37mm surely fit you can buy it from your local dealer..

Let us know please the happy end when the new decal will be on the top box...

Since you're in Vegas, why not just glue a poker chip in the recess?

The emblem on my OEM top box was about to come off, luckily I caught it. The 3M adhesive would get mushy in the sun and the emblem would slide down. Prolly would not have been long before I lost it. I removed it, cleaned the old adhesive off, scuffed up the painted surface and re-attached it with rubber cement. You know the little tube of glue that comes with a tire sticky string plug kit? Yep, that stuff. Holding up well so far.
