The Goose is heading down for his yearly visit to the honda hoot. The meet is overall a bit weak, but the riding down there cant be beat. I'm looking for some recommendations for a ride that we havent been on. We currently have two rides planned: 1. cherahola skyway 2. blue ridge parkway (starting around maggie valley and ending up in ashville).

We've been on:

- Rt. 25 and down the 209 to maggie valley (great historic motorcycle museum)

- the dragon

- all through the 411(scenic rt)

- all through the smokies (and want to stay the hell out of dollywood , gatlinburg, or any other place remotely similiar)

- down through 321 to the cosby area (great little stretch of foot hills parkway down there!!)

anyone got any suggestions for some new rides. we station ourselves in knoxville and dont mind riding in any 100 mile radius to get to a good ride.

thanx

* 226 276 South off the BRP, check out Looking Glass Falls on the roadside, just at the edge of Pisgah National Forest.

* All four directions leaving Shady Valley TN, aka The Snake. My favorite sweeper road is 133 headed north into Damascus VA.

* 58 East from Damascus VA, back to the BRP.

* 80 North off the BRP, all the way to 226.

That should keep you busy for a while.

I think that Jeff's first road number should be US 276......assuming it's the one that goes by looking glass falls.

28 from Deals Gap to Bryson City has lots of sweepers....nice road.

1. Take US 221 from Linville, NC up past Grandfather mountain and on to Blowing Rock, NC. It's 22 miles of pure bliss....countless turns.

2. Anywhere on the BRP is heaven to me.

3. A real sleeper, and not well known, is #194 going west from just north of Boone, NC off of US 321 / 421 and going to Banner Elk, NC. This is one of the wildest rides imaginable.

I understand maps better than written directions: From #1 to 4 on the map is Hwy 60 in Ga that turns into Hwy 68 in TN which are both great rides.

Also from #1 go over to Hwy 19 and go up to Blairsville up through Blood Mountain.

Another nice ride is through an area called Greasy Creek: The ride will take you along the Ocoee River, very scenic and curvy but crowded at places with rafters.

The last one is Wayah road, not crowded and a great ride, if you are not tired from all the turns, turn around and ride it back is the best way to get back or take hwy 64 at the end which is a straight scenic boring ride. Or you could go into Franklin and go back up 28 which will take you back to Fontana and the Dragon.

Enjoy the area and ride safe.
