I need a left saddle bag for my 2006 FJR. Took a ride yesterday and when I got home it was gone. I have heard these horror stories but I never thought it would happen to me. If you have one (or a pair) call me at 585-737-8787 and/or reply to this message ASAP.

Thanks,

Spinner

We get it, you need a left saddle bag, you don't have to repeat yourself. Pin the next ones you get by drilling a hole in the lower mount and putting a retainer pin in it.

Damn, that sucks. You're in my neighborhood too!

There's already enough preachers and teachers on here to tell you what you did wrong, all I will say is give my your routes (you took) cuz I need an excuse to ride somewhere today. Ditch looking is not my fav, but ya never know

Best of luck to you. I lost the cover for a saddlebag from my old Voyager years ago and found it this way.

Thanks buddy. I retraced my route from both directions in my car as soon as I realized the bag was gone to no avail. I do appreciate the offer to help though. I ordered a new bag, same color from Hollink Motorsports today. $615 including tax but at least Yamaha had one for me. They said it should be there by Tuesday.

Morning Sam, sorry about the bag.
My guess is that you already know this but all years will fit and Garauld can paint and color match any saddle bag to your model color.
Thanks Smuggler. I ordered a new one from a local dealer today, same color as my bike. A little steep at $615 (tax included) but I won't have any down time. I forgot to ask the dealer about the lock. I hope it comes with a key…...

Sam

Did you lock tight the lock screws on your bags?
I didn't and I doubt that the dealer did before I took delivery of the bike in 2006 did either. I would like to think that's what happened but I suspect that I neglected to properly close it properly. You can bet I will be Lock Tighting the screws on both bags when my new one arrives on Thursday ($615).

I'm pretty sure it comes without a lock. Do you have your third lock for a top box? Locks are sold in sets of three. You may wanna start asking now if someone has one they are willing to part with.

You can bet that I will be pinning both bags when my new one ($615) shows up at the dealer on Thursday. Lock Tighting screws on both bags too. I forgot to ask the dealer about the lock on the new bag. Do you think it will come with it's own (different) key?

I really appreciate the offer but I retraced my route from both directions in my car as soon as I realized it was gone. There are quite a few ditches on Route 64 and Route 65 and I could easily have missed it. I ordered a new one from Hollink's today…. $615. Same color as my 2006. Pricey but I won't have much down time. It will be here on Thursday. I'll be pinning both bags and lock tighting screws on both bags before I leave for Americade on June 4th. I bought the bike new in 2006, made it eight years without losing one and I don't want to lose another one…..

Plastic doesn't like lock tight so use some care and don't dribble, drip or smear.

It would be great if you can find the third tumbler that came with your bike, but if you can't find it there are options. A new or new to you tumbler can be rekeyed to match your current key, it is easy enough you could do it or a locksmith can do it in just a few minutes. Or, you can have a new key blank cut with your original key pattern on one edge and the new key pattern on the other edge. Put the key in the original locks one way then rotate the key 180º and it will work in the new lock.

Great information, thank you. I wound up ordering a new bag from a local dealer ($615 including tax) in the same blue color as my 06. The dealer said that the bag would come with a lockset and two keys. Wrong. I picked it up today but opened before I left the parts department. No lock. I had to order a set of three ($51). I think I will get a locksmith to match the tumbler to the lockset on other bag and ignition switch so that I can use one key for everything again. I seem to recall a post years ago with the part number of a heavy duty key blank that fit the FJR locks and ignition. Think I'll search for that right now. Thanks again for the advice.

Sam

If you pay attention and care to recoup some of your money, someone needs one of those lock sets every now and then. Now you have two extra.
