So, I'm probably going to be slumming around here a bit more than usual starting this next weekend. I will be returning home from the hospital on Saturday or Sunday, proud new owner of a Charite artificial disc at L5-S1. Having to take upwards of three months off work for the initial recovery from the procedure. Ugh.

I'm going under the knife on Wednesday morning and you know what's funny? I'm annoyed that I will be laid up in the hospital when the final IBR info comes thru. Man, I've been addicted to keeping up on that.

Unfortunately, I can't promise to post much of value as I'm betting I'm the worst wrench on this board, but I'll try and slip a funny in now and then. See you on the other side.

Bionic Pig

PS - for all you back sufferers out there, check out www.spine-health.com if you haven't - great site.

Bionic pig.... I like it!!!

Good luck. While my surgery wasn't nearly as complicated as yours, I'm really glad I did mine back in 12/05.

Well, good luck, Pigster. 'Recon how much this bill is gonna run? Any chance to become the Six Million Dollar Pig?

And we'll send the good ju-ju your way.

I can tell you with certain authority, you are not the worst wrench on this board...

Hope everything goes well & you get out of bed before it drives you nuts !

Big victory. Cha-ching.

But, the Seventy Thousand Dollar Pig just doesn't have the same ring. Back to Bionic Pig.

I thought you were having surgery on you wee

To make it smaller, no doubt, cause if your a cop you must be a BIG **** :assassin: :p

Good luck with the surgery Pig!! I had surgery on L5 about 14 years ago. Hope yours works out as well as mine did. No further problems, recovery time was about 5 weeks.

And if the Doc say walk in a swiming pool, do it. Back surgrey is nasty and a big part of that is the boring stuff you have to do after the knife. But it makes all the difference in the world so ... do the workouts and heal well my friend.

Best wishes your way.

Stronger. Faster. More annoying! The Bionic Pig!

Cheers.

P.S. So does this mean the doctor will be a "pig sticker"? Couldn't let that one slide.
