I've been on and off about adding a rack to my Givi, but not sure if the added weight would be too much. It does bounce a little now. I was hoping someone would chime in with some options or source or advice.

I don't know how much weight the top of the box can handle, but the back of the bike is limited to between 11 and 13 lbs.

If you need to carry more, and can't use the rear seat, check out Reno John's Rally bike. He got around the rear sub-frame issue!

But has a welded steel mounting frame to help the bike's sub-frame.

So does this Givi sub-frame eleminate the cracking of the stock tail-frame experienced by many because of too much weight on the rear? I'd like to be able to use either a Givi box or luggage secured to the back rack allowing for at least 20 lbs. of gear.

I currently have the old style Premier Cycle large aluminum rack but need a better base to mount it up on. I did several searches and couldn't come up with any verifyable info on weight using the above pictured Givi support rack. But it does look like it would help in the right direction. Very interested, any help? PM. <><
