Hello from Alaska...bought an '07 FJR1300A a week ago and have been having fun again after a Stratoliner Cruiser...noticed from the get-go my new ride had a 'stiff' throttle, seemed slow to return to idle, but strangely the return spring was too heavy as before after a long ride...Hmmmm?...put 300 miles on it, and yesterday installed the Heli triple clamp and risers like I had on my '06 FJR a year ago...I need the closer/higher arm reach at 61...anyhow, after routing everything properly, adjusting the pull-cable tension to give a bit of friction in a left turn, and releasing the throttle body spring to ease up on the hand cramps, the throttle return still seemed slow, but still stiffer than I remembered on my '06...Hmmmm again...I thought about resetting the spring, but decided first to lube both throttle cables at the twist grip...I ran lots of CRC Powerlube down each cable until it ran out at the bellcrank onto a paper towel...what a difference it made!...no more sluggish twistgrip, and now I can tighten the cable tension up fairly tight like I like it and it still snaps back pronto with plenty of spring tension...no old lube came out that I could tell...the cables are labeled MADE IN CHINA...WTF?...maybe Yamaha saved a few $ by installing them, but I don't remember my '06 having that label on those cables...there is no lube inside them as far as I can tell...hope this helps others with the same issue.

China seems the go for a lot of things, the Yamaha PW50 & 80 are made in China.

Maybe Honda and others are doing the same with their smaller bikes, would definitely be cheaper to build bikes in China.

The biggest car maker in Australia does the same thing.

Cars are built in Adelaide, South Australia but they get parts from China, Sth Africa, Korea, USA, Japan and a couple of others.

Yes I agree that we're now "Internationalizationized", as Pres. Bush might say...but no lube and sticky throttle cables with resulting inferior function does not a happy biker make of Gary after 47 yrs of riding 24 scooters...I know I have to lube my throttle cables periodically, but I found it unusual on a new motorcycle...maybe that's why Yamaha installs killer return springs...heads-up and thanks for the reply.
